    Cam brings 25 years of experience in the ecological and open space management industries. He keeps the ship running here at Makomako, monitoring quality and efficiency. Cam is a Greenflag judge and
    PITO assessor. He takes the lead in all open space management auditing and ecological surveys, and helps horticulture students succeed in their studies.

    Alex Spires

    Ecological Auditing, Operational Management


    Alex is our pest plant and pest animal specialist and used to run a team of 14 people undertaking ecological restoration work. Alex takes the lead with pest plant control works, ecological auditing and animal pest control work.  Alex also undertakes ecological surveys and health & safety audits.

    Jamie Weaver

    Ecological Open Space and HS Auditing, Horticulture Training


    An ex-horticultural and playground maintenance operations manager, Jamie can organise anything. Jamie has been undertaking pest plant control, ecological auditing and health & safety auditing. In his spare time, Jamie is a firefighter!

    Shanthie Walker

    Education Consultant




    Shan is our environmental educator extraordinaire. She has 21 years of experience teaching people about our natural world. Her latest projects are; Lead Educator for the Tread Lightly Caravan (managing 8 staff), writing water and waste related education resources for Tauranga City Council and producing Kiwi advocacy materials for the Australasian Zoological Society.

    Tony Hart

    Open Space Consultant




    Stakeholder Engagement and Open Space specialist, Tony is a master at bringing people onto the same page. Tony is a real people person and has consulted on some huge infrastructure projects, such as the Central Interceptor and the Eastern Busway Alliance. In all his projects, Tony ensures the community are informed, heard, and supported, and that amazing results are achieved for both the project and the wider community.
