Ecology

Our ecologists, environmental scientists and educators are dedicated to improving New Zealand’s native ecosystems.

We undertake Ecological Impact Assessments, pest plant surveys, ecosystem monitoring, contractor auditing and more.

At Makomako we also walk the talk: getting involved with native revegetation projects from design through to preparation and maintenance.

Education & Training

We love to help people grow and reconnect them to their natural environment. Through education and coaching, we empower individuals with the knowledge and skills they need.

Our initiatives include writing environmental education resources for teachers, coaching and assessing tertiary students, and actively facilitating in hands-on classroom activities in schools.

Open Space Management

We are experienced with all aspects of open space management from horticulture operations to asset surveys, capex project management, contract management and beyond.

We specialise in auditing of contractor physical works performance bringing independent, accurate, and objective observations and recommendations to the table.
